Ambiance: Paesanos was open and bus. The interior was designed to imitate a refined Italian restaurant. Service: the service was okay. We were stuck waiting for the server to close our tab for a while after the host had let them know. They probably just had some orders to do. Food: we got the bocce balls, farmers market salad, and pork fusilli. The bocce balls were fluffy and the garlic butter complimented them perfectly. The farmers market salad had a good blend of flavors, but we did find it lacked acidity. The pork fusilli was tasty. It is on the sweeter side and has the flavor profile of an Asian dish. Overall the food was prepared well but we found the dishes we order to be too similar. We do look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu!
Paesanos is my go to Italian eatery for sure. Most times I have visited, I am able to be seated relatively quick, and if not, I have walked around downtown for about 30 min and received a text message update that my table was ready. Not bad. Service can be a bit slow at times, as it can get pretty packed. The longest I recall waiting was almost an hour for my table's food after ordering. The waiter who was serving us was very apologetic about the food taking a while and even got the manager to speak with us. We were then given two coupons for $5 off our next visit, which I thought was very kind. The food is pretty good, in my opinion. As an appetizer, it is definitely worth it to try the Bocce Balls. It is Buttery, garlicy, cripsy, chewy goodness. The drinks are great as well, I usually get the lemon drop. As for environment, the restaurant is pretty spacious, with plenty seating inside and outside.
I'd actually meant to write this review last week when I came here, but got it accidentally mixed up with the name of another restaurant I visited. That's been cleared it up, so here's my experience: We stumbled upon Paesano's while looking for a nearby Italian spot with my five coworkers, and it ended up being an excellent choice. The restaurant offers incredible value for the quality and quantity of food they serve. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the generous portions--something that's hard to come by. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything we tried was top-notch. The pizzas were delicious and had an authentic taste on par with what I had in Italy. The tiramisu was fantastic, striking the perfect balance of creamy and rich, but it was the cocktails that were the real outstanding deal. Where we're from in the Bay Area, a meal like this would have easily cost twice as much, and that may be why locals have commented that it's relatively expensive. The ambiance was very laid back, and the tall ceilings made the place feel a lot less cramped than it may have been. The service was also great; our waitresses were attentive and kept everything running smoothly, making our experience even better. I'd highly recommend The Butterscotch Den for anyone craving quality Italian food at a fantastic price point. If I was a local, I'd probably go every week. My biggest regret was not having my camera available for better pictures. These don't do it justice.
This is the perfect casual lunch/dinner date spot! Both the service and food are excellent, we've even gotten take out from here and it has yet to disappoint. I forgot our servers name unfortunately, but she was amazing, very knowledgeable on the menu and gave some great appetizer and drink recommendations. Appetizers: Polenta Fries These came out piping hot and were absolutely delicious ! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the side, served with a unique duo of balsamic ketchup and gorgonzola sauce, both of which made them even more yummy. We would order every time we go, this is a must try item! 10/10 Fried Ravioli The ravioli were paired with a spicy marinara, and filled with a spinach cheese mixture. These were also very tasty, nothing to write home about, but solid and delicious. Next time we will probably try something different like the tomato soup or calamari but still yum. 7.5/10 Entrees: Fuji Apple and Gorgonzola Pizza This combination was a pleasant surprise but absolutely amazing. We could not believe how much we enjoyed this, but the apples were thin and soft, with the cheese being salty and creamy, and the honey added the perfect touch of sweetness that pulled it all together. This is another must try item, we are not fans of gorgonzola but this definitely changed our minds. 10/10 Farmers Market Salad For starters the portion size was huge, enough to share between two people and take a bit home as well! The toppings were plentiful and paired beautifully, our favorite parts were the cornbread croutons and tarragon dressing. (We went back a few days later just to get this again for take out) I've never had dates in my salads before especially with chicken but this was the best salad I've ever had. 11/10 Drinks: Sunset Margarita For drinks we split the Sunset Margarita which had lime juice, tequila, and tropical fruit. It was balanced and had a nice sweetness to it. It wasnt strong which I personally liked, I can't stand when all I can taste is alcohol but this margarita was tasty. I believe it was also happy hour and ended up being $13, which was nice. 8/10 Overall our experience here was fantastic, our server was friendly and checked on us constantly. She made sure we enjoyed our meal, and we appreciated how attentive she was when filling our waters and bringing any extras we asked for. The food was reasonably priced and delicious! Paesanos will definitely be in our date night rotation.
I have had many work lunches at this spot. It's a great spot to walk in. They have plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten free. The service is fast and there is plenty of seating for bigger parties.
